Margie Lucille Copeland-Welch, or Tilly to her many family and friends, was born on Tuesday, July 21st, 1931 in Proctor, OK, the daughter of Lee Roy and Dora Belle (Huston) Copeland. She joined a very large household of five brothers and six sisters, and five babies that never survived infancy. She attended Losier School until the 8th grade, then met the man she would build her life and family with, Floyd Leon Welch, they were married in October of 1949. Together they would raise a family of five sons and four daughters, and enjoy each others company for 34 years until Floyd's passing in 1983. Tillys favorite job was wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her. When she was employed, Tilly was a nurses aide, and gave the same loving care and concern she showed her family. She also worked in the kitchen at Donna's Restaurant in Wagoner, OK. When she had a little time on her hands, Floyd and Tilly loved to go dancing. There was nothing better than packing the hamper and heading for a scenic spot to enjoy a picnic lunch. After Floyd's passing, Tilly would call her sister, Fanny and out they would venture, to do a little shopping and perhaps to eat out. She was ready to go to the flea markets and set up a booth selling clothes and appliances. She was always ready to celebrate a holiday or event and get her family all together, time to spend loving on her grandbabies. Tilly passed from this life on Sunday, August 6th, 2017 at her home in Wagoner, OK, with her loved ones by her side. She was 86 years old. She will be greatly missed for the love she shared with all her family and friends.

Tilly is preceded in death by her mother, father, her husband Floyd, her son Floyd Dale, five brothers, Jack, Bill Cecil, Johnny, and Clarence Copeland, and her sisters, Clara Williams, Ruby Moore, Goldie Shrum, and Maxine Tyer. She has gone to join her grandchildren, Diane Hardison, Ty Welch, and Asala Sowers, step grandchildren, Billy Crabtree and Ralph Bohannon, and her in-laws, Floyd and Louisa (Thompson) Welch.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Margie Louise Hardison of Wagoner, Ray Jefferson Welch and wife Joanna of Muskogee, Larry Leon Welch of Muskogee, Lesley Wayne Welch of Herman Town, MN, Gary Dean Welch and wife Paula of Wagoner, OK, Karen Sue Sowers and husband Bobby of Wagoner, OK, Sharon Fay Welch and fiancé James of Broken Arrow, OK, and Sherry Kay Grooms and husband Kelly from Wagoner, OK.
