Eleanor Joyce Smith Greybull was born on December 14th, 1942 in Stilwell, OK, the daughter of Charlie and Maggie (Sanders) Smith. She grew up in a family with ten brothers and sisters, attended school and graduated from Cave Springs School. She married Harlan Greybull and together they raised three children, Veronica, Timothy and April, and enjoyed family life until Harlan's passing in 1974. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide, worked as a sanitation technician for the schools and also as a stocker at Dillards. Whenever she wasn't working, she loved to go out in her yard and do a little gardening, raising beautiful flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed a trip to the old fishing hole to relax on a sunny afternoon. When she was home, she liked to make special dinners for her family of Indian tacos, beans and cornbread and her fried chicken was simply the best. You could find her at Walmart looking for a bargain, or shopping for her family. She was a gifted seamstress and made beautiful quilts. She was a people person and had the kind of personality that drew people to her. Any chance she had to gather her family for a holiday, especially Christmas, were happy memories for Eleanor. A Baptist by faith, she attended Echota Church, and always had a servants heart, willing to help anyone she could with whatever she had to offer. She passed from this life on January 7th, 2018 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 75, with her family by her side. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, four brothers, William, Gomer, Joe and Charley Junior, five sisters, Lucinda Smith, Lucille Smith, Sallie Smith, Fannie Smith, and Nellie Hudson and one grandson, Nicholas Rutherford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Veronica Kirkendall, Timothy Greybull, and April Smith all of Muskogee, OK. She leaves one brother. Jimmy Smith of Oklahoma City, and three sisters, Mary Barnett of Shawnee, Evelyn McCosar of Los Angeles, and Christine Collins and husband Arlis of Tahlequah. Her grandchildren include Amber Thomason and husband Troy of Muskogee, Darren Kirkendall of Muskogee, Julieanna Rutherford of Tahlequah, Jeffrey Don Smith of Ft. Gibson, OK, and Dakota Smith of Tahlequah, and one special great grandchild, Olivia Thomason, a friend Alvin Howell, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friend and loved ones.
