Barbara Joy Guthrie was born on September 13th, 1943 in Turlock, CA, the daughter of Monroe and Lillie (Sterrett) Guthrie. She attended school in CA and later the family relocated to OK. She attended Nursing School in Oklahoma, obtaining her degree in Nursing. She was a kind and compassionate nurse, always caring for those in her care as if they were her family. Barbara was a loving daughter, mother, and friend. She loved any time she had to spend on her daughters, Rita and Rene. She enjoyed curling up with a good book, or playing board games with her family and friends. When the summers came, she loved the great outdoors and a trip to her favorite fishing hole. The Lord called her from this life on March 27th, 2015 in Vian, OK. She was 71 years old. She will be missed by her many friends and the family she loved so very much.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill Guthrie and one cousin, Jacob Farinelli.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Rita Foster and husband David of China Grove, NC and Rene Campbell of Houston, TX and her loving cousins, Dr. Carl Farinelli and wife Cathy and their family (which was more a younger brother then cousin). Her legacy lives on in her two adored grandchildren include David Durr and wife Sarah of Houston, TX and Felica Phelps and husband James also of Houston, TX; five great-grandchildren as well as a special aunt, Thelma "Kitty" Farinelli and a host of friends and loved ones.
